Stress Management
Dog underwater treadmilling exercising is
an extremely effective method of exercise for small, medium,
large, and extra large dogs. It is also highly affective
in our Behavior Modification Program where dogs learn stress
management and the natural releases of stress through exercise.
Most dog owners exercise their dogs the wrong
way. Playing fetch is a game that should be kept within
10 to 20 feet. Manny dog owners throw balls and other toys
30 to over 100 feet away. These items may turn 90 degrees
when contacting the ground. The dogs chasing the toys acquire
great speed and often power slide, trip, tumble, and dramatically
turn creating unnatural body alignments. The movement created
by fetch have cause canine
• Stomach Bloating leading to death
• Tendon Ruptures
• ACL Injuries
• Paw and Leg Spraining
• Hip Issues
• Arthritis
• Lower Spine Myopathy
• Pinch Nerves
Power Fetching as I call it puts a high amount
of stress and forced lateral movements on a dogs hips and
lower spine. As the dog gets older, canine myopathy and
arthritis sets in creating a pinch nerve and stiff movements.
The dog is now left with a pinch nerve disrupting the dog’s
gate for the rest of its life.

Our Dog Fitness Underwater Treadmill &
Dog Treadmill Program allows us to work dogs in our heated
water treadmill.
• Underwater treadmilling dog exercising
is an extremely effective method of exercise for small,
medium, large, and extra large dogs.
• The buoyancy provided by water lessens the weight-bearing
load on the dog’s limbs and preserves the dog’s
skeletal structure.
• The applied pressure from water on a dogs limbs
improve circulation and decrease inflammation that long
distance running and fetching causes.
• Water temperature can be changed to help the animal
relax and further stimulate muscles and circulation.
• The water walking greatly improves the dogs muscle
mass and cardio.
Muscle conditioning in water is one of the
best ways to effective build muscle mass, cardiovascular
strength and endurance.
We are able to heat the water in our Underwater
treadmilling to 92-96 degrees. This reduces stress, pain,
inflammation, stiffness, tension, and swelling that long
distance running, fetch and hard dog playing can create.
Swimming your dog in water is a great exercise.
Walking your dog in water exceed swimming as an exercise.
In addition, our Dog Fitness Program is used …
• in general conditioning programs
• to improve cardiovascular health
• to improve weight management for over weight dogs
• to help prevent injuries
• to provide intensive conditioning for sports dogs
• to provide intensive conditioning for working dogs
• to create high natural resistance
• to strengthen muscles
• as an low impact and highly effective workout
• to promote greater flexibility and balance
• to increased range of motion
• to reduce and release stress from aggressive and
nervous dogs
• as stress management
• to prevent pain and stiffness that other exercises
cause
• as a cross training or general wellness activitie
• in getting an edge over the competition for show
season
• in build muscle and endurance for agility competitions
• in build muscle and endurance personal protection
dogs
• in build muscle and endurance for Police Dogs
• on raining days
• when its too cold for human or dog to exercise
• when its too Hot for human or dog to exercise
• when its too muddy or icy outside for safe, effective
exercise
• when your swimming pool is closed
• when you do not have a swimming pool
Our Dog Underwater treadmill is our state of the art, treadmill
which offers a highly aerobic workout that is also low impact.
The chamber can be filled to different levels to accommodate
various size dogs from the tiny tea cup Chihuahua to a stately
Mastiff or Great Dane!
Benefits of underwater exercise:
Buoyancy -this property unloads the joints
anywhere from 9% at the hock, 15% at the stifle or 62% at
the hip. This puts less stress on the joints and requires
less muscle strength to support the body. A vest can help
further with support of comfort.
Hydrostatic pressure - this is the pressure
exerted on the dog's body by water. The pressure helps decrease
edema (swelling) in the tissues and joints and enhances
circulation. It also helps to decrease pain by decreasing
the hypersensitivity of the pain receptors.
Viscosity & Resistance - this strengthens
the muscles and increases cardiovascular fitness. Increasing
the speed of the belt (walking speed) enhances this effect.
Studies on humans have shown greater oxygen uptake (27-34%)
in water exercise. Jets can further increase the resistance.
Water temperature - warm water increases
circulation, increases joint flexibility and decreases pain.
Cool water increases the cardiovascular demand of the exercise
and therefor better conditions your younger dog or athlete.

DOG TREADMILL
Most dog owner’s think fetch is a great game to
play with their dog. Throwing a ball as for as possible
so the dog can get as much speed as possible is not a great
way to exercise your dog. Consider your dog living in the
wild. The wild dog does not run and power slide. The wild
dog does not perform 90 degree turns at full speed. The
rapid sharp turns a ball or toy produce will cause a dog
to power slide. These movements can lead to lacerations
on the dog’s hocks, tearing and rupturing their Achilles
tendon, hip and joint injuries, tearing or rupture a dog’s
knee. Cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injuries are common
from playing fetch. The cranial cruciate ligament is commonly
equated to the ACL in humans.
My dog treadmill allows your dog to move in its natural
gate. Walking, trotting, and full out runs are performed
safely. The movement and speed are controlled by your dog.
There are no electronics on this treadmill. Your dog is
the motor. Your dog can run the distance without being limited
by a fence, weather, or human companion.
Our dog treadmill is VERY different from your home treadmill.
Many of my clients try to put their dog on a home treadmill.
The dog stops and gets ejected. When the dog wants to slow
down, they cannot. They are often ejected and become completely
frightened by the treadmill. What should be a fun exercise
becomes a negative experience for the dog. The clients that
are successful in getting their dog on the treadmill are
not successful in getting the dog to run for more that a
few minuets. I have successfully run dogs that have failed
on human treadmills.
Dogs that run on our treadmill are proven to gain confidence,
release stress, release excess energy, become mentally exhausted,
physically exhausted, build muscle, and increase their cardio
stamina.
Dogs are often limited by our two legs, hot weather, cold
weather and rain. We have solved this problem. You dog will
be exercising indoors with AC or Heat.
This technology has proven to be so successful for dogs.
Military K9, Police K9, Sport Dogs, Hunting Dogs, and Show
Dogs are now using dog treadmills to increase there dogs
mental and physical fitness.
